Product parameters and manufacturing process of Carton Box
1、 Product parameters
(1) Material type
1. Corrugated cardboard
Leng type: Commonly used Leng types include A Leng, C Leng, B Leng, E Leng, F Leng, etc. The A-rib has the highest height and good cushioning performance, suitable for packaging heavy and fragile items; The C-rib height is second, with both cushioning and stiffness; The B-edge is relatively short and has high compressive strength on the flat surface, making it suitable for
cardboard boxes with high printing requirements; E and F ridges are shorter in height and harder in texture, commonly used for making small cardboard boxes and cartons, which can achieve exquisite printing.
◦ Layers: divided into three layers (single corrugated, such as AB tile, BC tile, etc.), five layers (double corrugated, such as AB corrugated, BC corrugated, etc.), and seven layers (three corrugated). Three layer corrugated cardboard is suitable for packaging lightweight products with low buffering requirements; Five layer corrugated cardboard has good comprehensive performance and is widely used in various types of product packaging; Seven layer corrugated cardboard is suitable for packaging large and heavy goods, with higher strength and compressive strength.
1. Kraft paper: High quality kraft paper is used as the surface or inner paper. Kraft paper has high tensile strength and toughness, which can effectively improve the durability of cardboard boxes, while also having good environmental performance.
2. Coated whiteboard paper: With a smooth surface and high whiteness, it is suitable for high-quality color printing and is commonly used for packaging products with high appearance requirements, such as food and cosmetics.
(2) Specification and size
1. Inner diameter size: Customized according to customer needs, accurate to millimeters, can meet the packaging requirements of different products. The common inner diameter size series include small (such as 200mm x 150mm x 100mm), medium (such as 500mm x 400mm x 300mm), and large (such as 1000mm x 800mm x 600mm).
2. Outer diameter size: Based on the inner diameter size, increase it appropriately according to the thickness of the cardboard to ensure that the
cardboard box can smoothly accommodate the product.
(3) Performance indicators
1. Compressive strength: The compressive strength of three-layer corrugated cardboard boxes can generally reach 1500-3000N, the compressive strength of five layer corrugated cardboard boxes is between 3000-6000N, and the compressive strength of seven layer corrugated cardboard boxes is even higher, which can meet the stacking requirements under different storage and transportation conditions.
2. Bursting strength: Tested by a bursting strength tester, the bursting strength of three-layer corrugated cardboard boxes is usually between 500-800kPa, and that of five layer corrugated cardboard boxes is between 800-1200kPa, ensuring that the cardboard boxes are not easily broken under certain pressure.
3. Puncture strength: measures the ability of cardboard boxes to resist piercing by sharp objects. The puncture strength of cardboard boxes with different materials and layers varies, ensuring that the product is not damaged by sharp objects during transportation.
2、 Production process
(1) Raw material preparation
1. Procurement of corrugated paper: Strictly select high-quality suppliers and purchase corrugated paper that meets the standards of weight, folding resistance, and ring compression strength to ensure the basic performance of the cardboard.
2. Selection of face paper and liner paper: Based on the customer's requirements for the appearance, printing effect, and strength of the cardboard box, choose suitable kraft paper, coated whiteboard paper, etc. as the face paper and liner paper.
3. Raw material inspection: Sampling inspection is carried out on the incoming raw paper to test indicators such as weight, moisture content, and burst strength. Unqualified raw materials are resolutely returned to control product quality from the source.
(2) Corrugated cardboard production
1. Pulp making: The corrugated paper is fed into the pulp making equipment, and through processes such as pulping and beating, the paper fibers are evenly dispersed, and the degree of fiber pulverization is adjusted to meet the production requirements of corrugated cardboard.
2. Forming: Using a corrugated machine to make the processed fiber slurry into a corrugated shape, and combining the surface paper, inner paper, and corrugated core paper into corrugated cardboard through processes such as coating and bonding. During this process, temperature, pressure, and vehicle speed are strictly controlled to ensure the bonding strength and corrugated quality of the cardboard.
3. Cutting: According to the size requirements of the customer, use a cross cutting machine and a longitudinal cutting machine to accurately cut the corrugated cardboard to obtain the required specifications of cardboard units.
(3) Printing process
1. Flexographic printing: Using flexible printing materials, ink is transferred through mesh rollers, suitable for ink printing on corrugated cardboard boxes. This printing method has low cost, good environmental performance, can achieve multi-color printing, clear printing effect, bright colors, and is suitable for general graphic and text printing needs.
2. Offset printing pre printing: First, perform offset printing on a roll of paper, and then mount it on corrugated cardboard. Offset pre printing has high printing accuracy and good color reproduction, suitable for cardboard boxes with high printing quality requirements, but the cost is relatively high and the production cycle is long.
3. Digital printing: No need for plate making, can achieve personalized and small batch carton printing. By directly controlling the nozzle through digital files to spray ink onto the surface of the cardboard box, it can quickly respond to customers' customized needs, especially suitable for industries such as e-commerce that require high packaging flexibility.
(4) Post processing processing
1. Die cutting: According to the design shape of the cardboard box, use a die cutting machine to cut the printed cardboard into shape. The die-cutting process has high precision and can produce various complex shapes of cardboard boxes, such as sky and earth cover cardboard boxes, irregular cardboard boxes, etc.
2. Indentation: Use an indentation machine to press creases on the cardboard, which facilitates the folding and shaping of the cardboard box, while ensuring accurate and aesthetically pleasing angles after folding.
3. Nail box/adhesive box: For large or heavy cardboard boxes, nail box technology is generally used, and galvanized iron wire is used to fix the joints of the cardboard box; For cardboard boxes with high appearance requirements or strict restrictions on nailing, the box sticking process is used, and environmentally friendly adhesives are used to firmly bond the cardboard boxes.
(5) Quality inspection
1. Appearance inspection: Check whether the surface of the cardboard box is flat, whether there are defects such as color difference, scratches, ink accumulation, etc., whether the printed patterns and text are clear and accurate, and whether the size meets customer requirements.
2. Performance testing: Randomly select a certain number of cardboard boxes for performance tests such as compressive strength, burst strength, and puncture strength to ensure that all performance indicators of the cardboard boxes meet the standard requirements.
3. Packaging and Storage: Pack the inspected cardboard boxes and use appropriate packaging methods such as bundling and wrapping film according to customer needs. Then, store them in the warehouse and wait for shipment. During the storage process, take protective measures such as moisture-proof and pressure resistant measures.
