1. Size
1) A4 size (commonly used): The unfolded size is 210mm × 297mm, and the folded size is generally 210mm × 99mm. This size is quite common and can accommodate a lot of content. It is suitable for comprehensive introductions of enterprises, detailed product promotions, etc. It is easy to carry and circulate, and is suitable for most promotional scenarios, such as exhibition distribution, store pickup, etc.
2) A3 size: unfolded size 297mm × 420mm, folded width of each panel is approximately 140mm. Larger in size, it can display more details and is suitable for promotional activities that require high display effects and rich information, such as large-scale project promotion and high-end brand image shaping. Its use in large-scale events or specific display occasions can attract more attention.
3) DL size: unfolded size 99mm × 210mm, folded width of each panel is only 33mm. Compact and portable, commonly used for short information display, such as replacing business cards, reminding event schedules, and introducing small promotional activities. It can be easily mailed or quickly distributed in places with high foot traffic.

2. Paper
1) 157g copperplate paper: with a smooth surface, high color reproduction, clear and bright printed patterns, good texture, and moderate price, it is a commonly used paper for enterprise promotional brochures, suitable for promotional scenes with certain requirements for color and image quality.
2) 200g copperplate paper: thicker than 157g, with better stiffness and a greater sense of weight when held in the hand. It can enhance the quality of folding and is suitable for high-end product promotion, important event promotion, and other situations that require high quality products.
3) 250g copperplate paper or cardboard: The paper is thick, sturdy and durable, and can withstand multiple flips. It is commonly used for promotional materials that require long-term storage and repeated viewing, such as annual reports and classic product manuals. However, thicker paper may cause problems at the folding point, and folding technology should be taken into account during design.
4) Special paper (such as matte paper, art paper, etc.): Matte paper has a dull surface and a matte effect. The printed text and images are soft and not dazzling, providing a good reading experience. It is suitable for enterprises that pursue artistic and elegant styles; There are various types of art paper with unique textures and textures, which can enhance the artistic atmosphere and uniqueness of folding. 3. Folding method
1) Standard Triple Folding: Folding paper twice in a certain order to form three folding areas (two folding lines) is the most common folding method. The information display is well-organized, easy to read, and suitable for various types of enterprise promotion, such as basic enterprise information, product series introduction, service content promotion, etc.
2) Double sided folding (two fold): Fold once to form two areas, with each area size determined by the paper size. For example, after folding A4 paper, each area measures 8.5 inches by 5.5 inches (approximately 210mm by 140mm). Concise and clear, suitable for promotions with relatively less content and prominent focus, such as single product promotion, event previews, etc.
3) Four fold: There are three fold lines, and the size of the folded area is usually 8.5 inches by 11 inches (about 210mm by 297mm), with each area having a smaller size when unfolded. It can display rich information and is suitable for detailed and multi-level promotion, such as reviewing the historical development of enterprises, introducing the entire process of large-scale projects, etc.
4) Z-shaped folding: The common size of the folding area is 8.5 inches by 11 inches (approximately 210mm by 297mm), and the folding area is Z-shaped with different heights. The width of each area is between 3.6 inches and 3.5 inches (approximately 90mm to 92mm). The unique folding method can attract readers' attention and can be used to highlight key information, emphasize promotional activities, etc., increasing the fun and attractiveness of publicity.
5) Brochure Folding: Folding into four or more smaller areas, each area can present detailed content, including product specifications, literature references, proof materials, etc. It is commonly used for special promotional activities, such as industry conference materials, high-end exhibition brochures, etc.
 
4. Printing Process
1) Film coating: divided into light film and matte film. After being coated with a light film, the folding surface is bright and transparent, with more vivid colors, which can enhance visual impact and prevent the paper from yellowing, fading, and breaking. However, it may have reflective effects under strong light and affect reading; The matte film has a misty surface, elegant and noble, comfortable to the touch, good anti reflective effect, and can also protect the paper. It is suitable for promotional materials that pursue texture and reading experience.
2) Hot stamping/silver stamping: By hot pressing, metal foil is transferred to the surface of paper, forming gold or silver patterns and text on the fold, highlighting key information, brand logos, etc., enhancing the overall quality and grade of the fold. It is commonly used for high-end product promotion, important event invitations, etc.
3) UV printing: A layer of special UV ink is coated on the surface of the printed material, which is instantly dried and cured by UV irradiation, forming a high gloss and raised effect on the surface of local patterns or text, enhancing visual hierarchy and three dimensionality, highlighting key elements, attracting attention, and suitable for creative design, fashion brands, and other promotion that pursue unique visual effects.
4) Die cutting and indentation: Die cutting can cut the folding into special shapes according to design requirements, increasing uniqueness and creativity; Indentation can pre press marks at the folding point, making the folding smoother, the creases more neat and beautiful, and easy to read and store. It is commonly used for irregular folding or designs that require high folding effect.
5) Bleeding setting: To avoid white edges or missing content during cutting, bleeding should be set during design. The general bleeding size is 3mm/edge, which means that the actual size of the design document should be increased by 3mm on each edge based on the finished size. For example, for A4 size (210mm × 297mm) promotional brochures, the design document size should be 216mm × 303mm.
 
5. Resolution and color mode
1) Resolution: The printing resolution requirement is 300dpi (dots per inch) to ensure clear and delicate printing images, sharp text edges, avoid blurring, jagged edges, and other phenomena, and ensure the visual quality of promotional brochures.
2) Color mode: Adopting CMYK color mode, which is a common color mode in the printing industry, different from the RGB mode displayed on the screen. Be sure to set the file color mode to CMYK in the design software to ensure that the printed color is as close as possible to the design color and reduce color difference.
