Recently, we once again welcomed the children who participated in the "Birth of a
book" research and learning experience. In the previous session, they personally felt the warmth of paper and witnessed the miracle of bookbinding. Today, we will open another door together - stepping into the behind-the-scenes stories that give books their soul.
1.Editor: The "Guardian" Hiding Behind the Text
The children transformed into "little editors" and examined the "manuscript" with a professional eye for the first time.
With the red
pen falling, it's no longer a simple matter of right or wrong, but a matter of contemplation:
Can readers understand this sentence?
Is this title attractive enough? They found that editing is not just about correcting typos, but also serves as an invisible bridge between the author and the reader - helping ideas to arrive clearly and allowing the story to be truly heard.
2.Designer: Dress the story in the most suitable "clothes"
The cover is the "face" of a book, while the inside pages embody its "temperament".
Guided by the designer, the children saw:
Font size, spacing rhythm, illustration placement
Every choice silently conveys emotions. They personally experimented with designing the layout for a poem, and only then did they understand: design is originally a dialogue between vision and the soul.
3.From "seeing a book" to "reading and understanding a book"
This journey is not just about understanding how a book is "produced", but also about comprehending how a book is "created".
When the children put down their
pens and looked up, what shone in their eyes was no longer just curiosity, but also a gentle understanding------
Understand that every book held in your hands embodies the gaze and sentiment;
Understand that every reading is an encounter with a team working silently.
The birth of a book
The life of a book begins long before it is opened.
Those who truly understand it will hear the voice beyond its silence
