1、 Product parameters
 
(1) Basic Information
1. Size specifications: We offer a variety of standard sizes for customers to choose from, while also supporting custom sizes. The standard sizes include A5 (148mm × 210mm), B5 (176mm × 250mm), and A4 (210mm × 297mm). Custom sizes require customers to provide specific length, width, and height data. We will adjust production based on actual sizes, with a minimum customizable size of no less than 80mm x 120mm and a maximum customizable size of no more than 300mm x 400mm.
2. Page setting: The regular page numbers are 64 pages, 96 pages, 128 pages, and 192 pages. Customers can also customize special page numbers according to their own needs, such as 256 pages, 320 pages, etc. The page count is calculated on a per sheet basis, with one sheet of paper being 2 pages. Customized pages must be even. If the customer has special odd page requirements, they need to be explained in advance, and we will handle them through special processes.
3. Binding methods: Common binding methods include glue binding, saddle stitch binding, and loose leaf binding. Adhesive binding can be divided into wireless adhesive binding and lockwire adhesive binding. Wireless adhesive binding is suitable for notebooks with fewer pages (64-192 pages), with firm binding and lower cost; Lockline adhesive is suitable for notebooks with a large number of pages (200 pages or more), which can be spread flat, easy to read, and durable. Horseback binding is suitable for notebooks with fewer pages (usually no more than 64 pages), with fast binding speed, low cost, and suitable for short-term use. Loose leaf binding includes metal and plastic binders, and customers can choose the color and style of the binder according to their preferences. Loose leaf binding is easy to replace the inner pages and has high flexibility.
 
(2) Internal page parameters
1. Paper material: High quality Writing Paper is selected, commonly including 70g and 80g double adhesive paper. The paper has moderate whiteness (85% -90%), is not dazzling, writes smoothly, has good ink absorption, and is not easy to bleed ink. At the same time, special inner paper options are also available, such as Dorian paper, kraft paper, etc. Dorian paper is thick and not easily penetrated when writing, making it suitable for pen writing; Kraft paper has a unique retro texture, suitable for making personalized notebooks.
2. Internal page format: Supports customization of multiple internal page formats, including blank pages, horizontal lines, grid pages, dot matrix pages, weekly plan pages, monthly plan pages, annual plan pages, etc. Blank pages are suitable for painting and free writing; Horizontal pages are suitable for daily recording and writing; Grid pages are suitable for drawing, design, and mathematical calculations; Dot matrix pages combine the advantages of grid pages and blank pages, making them suitable for various creative expressions; The planning page is suitable for time management and scheduling. Customers can also combine and match different formats of interior pages according to their own needs.
(3) Cover parameters
1. Cover Material: Provides a wide selection of cover materials to meet the needs and budgets of different customers.
Paper cover: including copperplate paper, matte paper, kraft paper, special art paper, etc. Copperplate paper and matte paper have smooth surfaces, suitable for printing exquisite patterns and colors, and can be processed by laminating, hot stamping, silver stamping and other processes; Kraft paper cover has a natural and retro style, good texture, and strong durability; There are various types of special art paper, such as textured paper, pearlescent paper, embossed paper, etc., which can add unique visual and tactile effects to notebook covers.
• Leather cover: available in PU leather, imitation leather, genuine leather, etc. PU leather and imitation leather are relatively affordable in price, with a texture similar to genuine leather, rich colors and styles, and easy to clean and maintain; The leather cover has high-end quality, soft and comfortable feel, good wear resistance and breathability, and is the preferred material for high-end customized laptops.
• Other material covers: such as fabric covers, wooden covers, metal covers, etc. The fabric cover has a soft touch, rich colors, and certain breathability and wear resistance; The wooden cover has a natural wood grain texture, unique texture, environmentally friendly and durable, but relatively heavy weight; The metal cover has a high-end texture, is sturdy and durable, and can be processed by carving, hollowing out and other techniques, but the cost is relatively high.
 
2. Cover thickness: The cover thickness varies depending on the cover material. The thickness of paper covers is usually 250g, 300g, 350g, 400g, etc., which can be selected according to the customer's requirements for the hardness of notebook covers; The thickness of the leather cover is generally between 0.8mm-2.0mm, and the thickness of the leather varies depending on the material and quality; The thickness of other material covers depends on the specific material and customer requirements. For example, the thickness of wooden covers is usually 3mm-8mm, and the thickness of metal covers is 0.5mm-1.5mm.
 
3. Cover craftsmanship: Various techniques can be applied to the cover to enhance the aesthetics and texture of the notebook. Common processes include laminating (light film, matte film, tactile film, laser film, etc.), hot stamping, silver stamping, gold stamping, UV printing, embossing, embossing, hollowing out, carving, flocking, etc. Covering film can protect the cover pattern, increase the wear resistance and waterproofness of the cover; The processes of hot stamping, silver stamping, and gold stamping can give the cover pattern or text a metallic luster and elevate its quality; UV printing can make the local patterns on the cover appear bright and colorful; Concave convex embossing, embossing, and embossing techniques can create a three-dimensional effect on the cover and enhance visual impact; Hollow out and carving techniques can create unique cover designs; The flocking process can give the cover a soft and fluffy texture.
 
2、 Production process
 
(1) Pre design and layout
1. Customer demand communication: Fully communicate with customers to understand their needs for customized laptops in terms of usage, style, size, page count, inner page format, cover material, process requirements, quantity, budget, etc., and clarify their brand elements (such as logo, brand color, slogan, etc.) and design preferences.
2. Design proposal formulation: Based on customer needs, a professional design team will carry out the overall design of the notebook, including cover design, interior page design, layout, etc. The design scheme will fully integrate the customer's brand elements, reflect the customer's personalized needs, while ensuring the aesthetics, practicality, and readability of the design.
3. Design draft confirmation: Produce the design proposal into a design draft, including cover renderings, interior page samples, etc., and submit it to the client for confirmation. Customers can provide modification suggestions, and we will make adjustments based on their feedback until they are satisfied with the design draft and sign to confirm.
 
(2) Paper procurement and pre-processing
1. Paper procurement: According to product parameter requirements, purchase inner and cover paper from reputable and high-quality paper suppliers. Strict quality inspection will be conducted on the paper during procurement, including indicators such as whiteness, thickness, flatness, stiffness, ink absorption, and folding resistance, to ensure that the purchased paper meets production requirements and quality standards.
2. Paper cutting: Cut the purchased large sheets of paper according to the designed size. Use high-precision cutting equipment to ensure accurate paper size and neat edges after cutting, with an error controlled within ± 0.5mm.
3. Paper pretreatment (if necessary): For some special materials of paper or paper with special process requirements, pretreatment is required before printing. For example, for copperplate paper with a smooth surface, corona treatment is required to improve the adhesion of ink; For kraft paper, surface coating treatment can be carried out to improve the printing effect.
 
3、Printing process
1. Inner page printing: According to the requirements of the design draft, use appropriate printing methods to print the inner page paper. The commonly used printing methods include offset printing, digital printing, etc. Offset printing is suitable for large-scale production, with stable printing quality, bright colors, and high resolution; Digital printing is suitable for small batches, personalized customization, and can achieve variable data printing with a short production cycle. During the printing process, parameters such as printing pressure, ink usage, and drying temperature will be strictly controlled to ensure clear printing, accurate color, no ghosting, and no missed prints on the inner pages.
2. Cover printing: Cover printing is similar to inner page printing, selecting the appropriate printing method based on the cover material and design requirements. For paper covers, offset or digital printing is usually used; For leather covers, silk screen printing, transfer printing, digital printing and other methods can be used; For metal covers, screen printing, laser printing, and other methods can be used. During the cover printing process, attention will be paid to the reproduction of colors and the refinement of patterns to ensure that the cover printing effect meets customer expectations.
 
4、Quality Inspection and Packaging
 
1. Quality inspection: Establish a strict quality inspection system to comprehensively inspect the production process and finished products of laptops.
• Process inspection: In various processes such as printing, binding, and post-processing, professional quality inspectors are arranged to conduct sampling inspections, timely discover and solve quality problems that occur in the production process, and ensure that the product quality of each process meets the requirements.
• Finished product inspection: Conduct a comprehensive inspection of the notebook products that have completed all processing steps, including appearance quality (whether the cover is flat, scratch free, stain free, whether the printed pattern is clear, whether the color is accurate, whether the binding is firm, without errors, missing pages, duplicate pages, etc.), dimensional accuracy (whether the length, width, and height dimensions of the notebook meet the design requirements, and whether the error is within the allowable range), functional quality (whether the writing on the inner pages is smooth, whether the binder opens and closes smoothly, whether the inner pages are easy to replace, etc.). For products that pass inspection, affix a qualified label; For non-conforming products, rework or scrap treatment should be carried out to ensure that every notebook leaving the factory meets quality standards.
2. Packaging: Choose the appropriate packaging method for the notebook based on customer needs and product characteristics.
• Single packaging: Each notebook can be individually packaged in OPP bags, kraft paper envelopes, paper boxes, etc. to protect the notebook from damage during transportation and storage, while enhancing the product's grade.
Batch packaging: For large quantities of laptops, cardboard boxes will be used for bulk packaging. High strength corrugated cardboard boxes are selected for the cardboard boxes, and suitable box specifications are designed according to the size and quantity of the notebooks to ensure that they are neatly and stably placed inside the cardboard boxes. Buffer materials such as foam and bubble film will also be placed in the carton to prevent the notebook from being damaged due to collision during transportation. After packaging is completed, label the product name, quantity, specifications, customer information, production date, and other relevant information on the outside of the cardboard box for easy identification and management.
